Gratitude
I am so proud to be the husband of Marianne Michele Henry. She is such an incredible wife, a beautiful mother, and my best friend. Watching her in this season of pregnancy has made me realize how truly blessed I am. I have seen how pregnancy, though it is such a beautiful thing, surely brings fatigue, physical discomfort, a shot of stomach acid every morning to get you started, sore and swollen sausage feet, and the overwhelming pressure of "what you do affects your baby". It truly demands for a molding of the heart, for your character to be strengthened, and for you truly live out sacrificial love by braving the physical pain in order to give life to a new child.
Her heart has been for this baby since the day the Lord said, "Go." Even though finding out that we were to have a child was so not in our agenda, she wanted to please the Lord. I am SO BLESSED to know that this beautiful woman longs to please the heart of God! I am SO BLESSED to know that she prays for the satisfaction of every need for that little baby inside of her. I am SO BLESSED that my son is covered in his mommy's prayers regarding his future- for I know that when she prays for him, she is asking for pure, lovely, and noble things on his behalf. I am so excited to take my place as the father, especially knowing that Mari will be by my side as the mother. She teaches me so much about loving, caring, listening, obedience to God, laughing, and fulfilling our highest calling: being a child of the Heavenly Father.
I am so thankful for this family that is being established in this day.
Week 38 Fun
So, Mari and I wanted to catch the baby moving on camera before she pops. Of course, when we get everything set up-camera charged, tape in , Mari on the couch, and daddy aiming the camera right at the belly- he decides to play a little game called "I know you're watching me, so I will stay still." Ha, so, after about 10 minutes of taping, Mari says, "We should probably save some tape for the day he's born, so let's turn it off." Right as I turn it off, he starts partying in the womb. So, excitedly, I turn the camera back on to capture the moment...he must have heard the frequency of the camera turning on or something, because he stoppped immediately. So then, Mari and I got the brilliant idea of trying to "trick" our baby boy into moving. After loudly announcing that we were going to turn the camera off, I shut the side view screen to make the trick sound more authentic to the baby....AND....SUCCESS! Boy, did we foil him. This is just the beginning of many foils to come! Enjoy!
